Editing Pages

Many of the pages on this site are part of the discussion forum where one can only edit their own posts. However, after sufficient dialogue we encourage you to participate in the collaboration section of the site where pages are editable so you and your colleagues can work together to perfect a policy document. To edit a page, click on the edit button at the bottom of the page.

All edits are logged. The "History" button at the bottom of the page allows you to see the edits and who made them. You can compare different versions and even revert to an earlier version if necessary.

Tagging Pages

Tagged pages allow site users to find the content that interests them most. Once you've edited a page (forum or not), be sure to click on the "Tags" button (also in the top menu bar), and enter any keywords used in your page or forum post.

Uploading Pictures

There are several ways to do this. Use the "insert image wizard" in the editing toolbar to help you.

  1. If you know of a picture on an existing Web site, you can copy and past that link into the wizard.
    1. To get an image URL, right-click on the image and select properties.
    2. Copy the Address URL of the image file into the wizard.
    3. Make sure you are not violating copyright by doing this.
  2. You can upload your own image to this wiki
    1. Upload the file first by clicking on the "Files" button at the bottom of the page.
    2. Remember what you named the file (you can copy it from the files list before the next step)
    3. Click on the "Edit" button and select the "insert image wizard" in the editing toolbar.
    4. Select the "attached file" radio button and type in the file name.
  3. Choose one of the placement options from the pull-down menu in the wizard. Don't worry about the "Extra CSS style" box.

Uploading Files

You can "attach" a Word document (or similar file) as a reference if you wish.

  1. At the bottom of the page you are working on you will see a "files" tab, click on it.
  2. You will then see a tab labeled "upload new file" at the bottom of the page, click on it and follow the directions.
  3. Edit the page and add a line instructing the person reading the page to click on the "Files" button at the bottom to see the attachment.
